"FUND OUR HOME" 

Is an initiative to purchase a home for the survivors of human trafficking, prostitution and drug addiction.

“Our Home” is headed up by a selfless lady named Mama V, who is involved in the fight against human trafficking. 

Mama V actively engages with girls and ladies that have through the misfortunes of life (human trafficking, dysfunctional home situations, drug abuse, prostitution etc.) landed up on the street. Once she engages with these ladies, she builds relationships with them to help them escape their current situations. 

Once she has invested a large amount of time into establishing a relationship with the ladies, she assists them with a safe haven to stay at. The safe haven includes a warm bed, meals, a place to get sober, a place to gain a skill to assist with daily living, a place where the ladies can stay, feel safe and have a feeling of belonging. 

For each girl/lady rehabilitation looks different and thier needs are not the same. The ladies suffer from a large amount of anxiety and PTSD on a continued basis, even over the course of years the physical and psychological damage is still apparent. 

Mama V provides these ladies with a haven that they can call home and belong to, where rehabilitation is not a quick fix and integration back into society is not always an option. For majority of the ladies that come into Mama V’s home, same have not had a place that they can truly say they belong to, Mama V is that home, their forever home. 

Mama V has founded a Non-Profit Company and their slogan is “Our Home, a place where stories are changed”. 

The property that Mama V is currently utilising as their haven is rented to her, on the basis that she covers the costs for Water, Electricity and Rates. 

However, the owner now intends to sell the property, the owner has provided Mama V with an option to purchase the property, at a reduced sum, being R3 000 000.00 (Three Million Rand). 

The property is part of the heart of the organisation and is a stable haven for girls, ladies and woman. If the property were to be sold to a third party it would have a devastating effect on the organisation and the girls and ladies residing in the home.  

Our offices have pledged to transfer the property into the organisation’s name, however, we are a small firm of attorneys, and we are well aware that in order to make a real difference we shall require a small miracle and that is only achievable through many hands, be it individual or through businesses.

 We are also willing to assist Mama V, with applying to the Municipality for either an exemption or decreased Rates once the property is registered in the organisations name. 

In addition, our office has already donated R5 000.00 towards the cause to get the ball rolling and we are collecting funds. 

We want to be the small ripple that makes an ocean of difference to the people that have experienced the dark side of human trafficking, prostitution and drugs and by assisting Mama V purchase their haven, it shall truly provide a place of belonging and a forever home for these girls and ladies who deserve a chance and a break in life.

We challenge individuals and businesses to join the initiative, and to challenge others to do the same. 

We are aware of the tall order, but we have faith that people are inherently good and will want to assist and join in on the initiative to make a difference. We are of the view that if the initiative reaches the correct persons ears, we can reach our goal to assist Mama V.
